We decided to sign up for the waiting child list which includes children with special needs. We felt that if the right child for us was in the waiting list, we would know when we were called.
On December 20, 2007 we received the call. We had the opportunity to ask to adopt Hui Xing, a handsome young boy from Guangdong Province. Here are the pictures that we received:

After taking some time to pray, talk to some doctors about his cleft palate condition, and make sure we were all on board, we sent in our Letter of Intent to adopt Hui Xing on January 2, 2008. At this point, we couldn't tell anyone what was happening which was very difficult.
The great news came on January 14. We were pre-approved to adopt Hui Xing.

The whole Leonard family is excited about our new nephew, Connor Egge! We love his photos and can't wait to give him a big hug!
He and Jordan will be pretty close in age, so they will always have playmates when we get together at our family gatherings! How blessed can two little kids get!
We can't wait to meet him in person.
