This past week we traveled to Sanibel Island in Florida for vacation with Grandma Barbara, Grandpa Joel, Rob, Leslie, William, & Elizabeth. We had a great time! It was especially fun to be together with family. The weather was nice. The bugs were biting, but we tried to use bug spray as much as possible.Connor seemed a little unsure when we first arrived, but after a couple days he was his regular, joyful self. It's always fun to see how William and Elizabeth are growing up.
Connor loved low tide. He loved playing in the sand and with all the little critters.
On the way back, we stopped in Bradenton where Grandpa Jack, Grandma Carolin, Connie, and Meghan were vacationing at G&G's winter place. It was nice to see them at their home away from home. On the evening of the fourth we made our way to Bradenton Beach where Connor loved seeing all the fireworks.
On Saturday, we used the remaining day that we had on some Universal tickets (from a couple of years ago). Connor loved the Cat in the Hat ride, but unfortunately he only got to ride it once, because it broke down. Melissa and Michael loved the Incredible Hulk coaster.

Then, on Monday, after getting back home, Connor had his doctors appointment with the surgical team from Riley Children's Hospital. It was very informative. There were no major surprises. We wish that we could just snap our fingers and his cleft would be healed, but we knew what we were committing to when we selected Connor and we are thrilled that his palate will be repaired. We have great confidence in the team that we met with.
A week prior to our vacation, Melodie Heer and Tina Hammond hosted an open house for Connor. We had a great time. I plan to post pictures when we get them. (We were too busy enjoying the party to take pics with our own cameras.)

It was so exciting to see your new posting. What fabulous photos! We want to go back and be with you there again. It was so wonderful being together. What a great family picture at the beach. Connor sure has bonded with the four of you. We loved seeing him so secure and happy.
Thanks for the medical update. We know God will be with Connor and all of you as he has the surgery and the recovery time.

It's amazing to see how much he has changed in the short time you've had him. If you look at one of the first pictures you have of him...WOW what a difference some love makes. I love when you catch him giggling, his whole face just lights up. Thanks for keeping it going and sharing your little guy with us.
Hugs
Tina
