Tough guy

Weighing in at only 26lbs. but one tough little guy!

Connor's surgery went very well. He went right with the nurse when she came for him. She returned later to tell us he didn't cry a bit. He was finished with surgery by 3 o'clock. His cleft was pretty significant but the doctor was able to get it closed.

Connor watched the nurses like a hawk. Watching the different machines and how they worked. Waiting for the beep when they checked things. He sat so still and was so good!

We thought we would stay in the hospital for atleast 24 hours, but once the bleeding stopped he started wanting a drink and icecream. That was about 9pm. He only wanted mommy to hold him. Daddy wanted to snuggle but Connor wouldn't allow it for long. He snuggled with mommy until about midnight and slept in the crib until 4am. He was up and around when the nurse came in and wanted more icecream and juice. He was very upset that she hadn't brought any with her! She was so proud of him! The doctor came in at 7:30 am and said there was nothing more he could do for us so pack up and head home. We were pretty amazed! Kids recover so quickly. Believe me we couldn't have contained Connor in that little room much longer. He was ready to move on. If you know Connor you know that isn't surprising!

It has now been 2 days since surgery and he is doing well. Fussy as you would imagine, but well over all. He has been playing outside this morning on his bike. You can't keep this kid down for long. He was very ready for a nap.

I don't think after this experience that Connor will go so willingly with another stranger. You never know what you might be getting yourself into!
